The Board of Directors of the SDF appreciates the achievements in the first half of 2024
The third meeting of the BODs chaired by H.E. Dr. Phan Phalla, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the SDF, accompanied by the Vice Chairman and members of the BODs representative from the public and private sector was organized on July 26th, 2024, in order to review the progress of work, identify key achievements, and identify key strategies for the Institutional Development Plan of the SDF 2024-2030.
In this important meeting, the CEO of SDF presented the main achievements of SDF, including:
1. Achievements from 2018 to the first half of 2024: SDF received 308 training project proposals, of which 148 projects were approved with a total training cost of 24.38 million US dollars, with SDF contributing up to 13.31 million USD (55%) and 30,769 scholarship trainees (34% women).
2. Achievements in the first half of 2024: SDF received 35 training project proposals, of which 27 projects were approved with a total training cost of US$ 7.19 million, with SDF contributing up to US$ 5.01 million (69%) and up to 14,995 scholarship trainees (33% women).
Compared to the full year achievement in 2023 and only one semester in 2024, SDF achieved more than 100% in terms of both the contribution budget and the number of trainees. This underscores the efforts of the SDF team at all levels, who have dedicated both their physical and mental strength to the mission of strengthening and expanding the skills development of the Cambodian people in order to promote economic and social development.
At the same time, SDF has officially launched two innovative programs, digital solutions that facilitate and accelerate the skills development of the private sector, including:
1. Partnership Platform: Currently, there are 121 registered institutions, including 58 enterprises and 63 training providers, and it is expected to increase to 500 by the end of 2024.
2. Skills Matching Program: Currently, there are 50 skills that training providers have applied for approval to run their training courses on the Skills Matching Program, of which 28 have been approved and are in progress.
All of these achievements would not have been possible without the good guidance and recommendations of the BODs and, in particular, the support of all SDF stakeholders.
At the same time, SDF has further enhanced the development of team and management skills, both soft and technical, including: the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for careers and businesses, the study of international management experience on the Skills Development Fund, self-leadership and subordinate skills training, emotional intelligence management (EQ), yoga training that promotes both physical and mental health, knowledge and experience sharing from SDF team members, etc. All of these are investments in the future of the SDF to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of solving problems for SDF partners and society as a whole. In addition, automated customer service via Chatbot and Machine Learning is integrated into SDF's social network, which is capable of responding to customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, while the approval period for training project proposals has been expedited by 2-4 weeks. Through the optimization and quality of customer service, SDF was welcomed and supported in the first half of 2024, with the number of followers on Facebook increasing from 13,400 at the end of 2023 to 39,000 (291%), while TikTok, launched in April 2024, has up to 15,000 followers.
In this interactive meeting, the BODs set priority priorities, focusing on achieving the work goals in the second half of 2024, expanding the scope of the development of skills among Cambodians more widely, and supporting government policies that include the first phase of the Pentagon strategy, the informal economic development strategy, and the development of new initiatives, such as the modernization of the project management system.
In addition, the Institutional Development Plan 2024-2030 has been approved by the BODs to serve as a roadmap for SDF in continuing its mission to transform Cambodia into a higher-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050.
“High skills, high income! High Skill, High Income!”
Together, we build a Skillful Cambodia!
